The Winter blues

We've all have hopes, and dreams. Things we've gotten stuck in our heads. The kind of thing that keeps you up at night watching +YouTube videos. Endlessly surfing the web, or +eBay. For me it's always been the dream of owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

From past posts you've seen I made that dream a reality. It took a lot of guts, courage, credit, and support from my wife to do it. I've since switched my YouTube interests from Harley's, to simply people using the new HDpro cams on their helmets. Watching other people ride their Harley's. Why you may ask, since you now own your own. Well, it's simple I live in a small town directly in the middle of Canada called Thunder Bay. Our current temperature is -32 degreesC. For my American friends that equals out to -26 degrees Fahrenheit. So my new baby is nestled away in my garage for the time being.

I've been criticized for purchasing a bike at such a strange time of year, but honestly last spring the cost of a good used motorcycle balloons to an average of $1500 more. Vice versa for the fall. Just before Christmas when I purchased my Harley. I'm guessing I saved nearly $1500 on the "before Christmas" rush. I'm paying in different ways for it now, mostly the torture of watching it sit. Lol. Thus I will continue watching YouTube videos until the snow goes away, and the temperature begins to rise again. Coincidentally my favorite YouTube video happens to be of me taking my Harley out for the only ride I've had on it. Two days before the snow fell, I did get a short, but cold opportunity to take her for a spin. Have a look! And happy web surfing.

My Dream is now Reality

Finally was able to purchase my first Harley. It's a 2005 XL883h sportster. I'm as excited as a 5 year old at Christmas. Only 9000 miles. Here is a quick YouTube video I made to show my new baby off.

Target located

My apologies for the delay on my blog. I had a busy summer with my job, and not much free time to blog. I wish I could report that I spent my summer cruising around on a Harley, but no such luck.

I finally found myself in a dealership sitting on a nice 1999 sportster 883. The dealership here in Thunder Bay wanted $5500.00 for it, but it had a lot of miles on it and seemed out dated with an ugly dull orange color.

I finally worked up the nerve to ask Harley how there financing worked.. Not bad a reasonable 10% down, and with good credit (as if) I could pay as low as $90 a month for payments for five years. Although this doesn't sound too bad the more I look into insurance for first time graduated license drivers. A bike with on a loan agreement needs comprehensive insurance. I've recently turned 36. Have no prior accidents, or claims. Insurance cost average about $2600. Now bringing the total bill to around $200 a month to have the privilege of riding a used Harley Sporty. So I left the idea behind for awhile. Here we are in October, and I eat, sleep, dream the thought of riding a Harley.

On October 6, my birthday I went out to rural thunder bay to look at a 2005 sporty I had been eyeing on kijiji for a few weeks.. Here's a pic of this momentous day.

What a nice bike. Thank you to Dan and Annie for letting me take it for a ride on the rural roads. Or thanks to them it kicked my HOG bug into full gear I'm absolutely obsessed to the point of no return. I've got an appointment this afternoon with a bank to see about a personal loan. Wish me luck!

Thank you to those who have read my blog, and helped with positive comments during this time of my disease. I'm still dreaming of the cure. The day I put my own Harley into first gear and let out the clutch. Ahh what a sweet sound.

Im dreaming of a Harley Davidson

Like many men my age(35). I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Two young children has turned into two teenagers, and the idea that I may actually be able to consider something for myself though still a dream, but almost reachable.

My name is Steve, I live in a small town called Thunder Bay, On Canada. I am starting these blogs as an experiment. My experiment consists of to parts. 1- blog about my motorcycle passion. 2- advertise on my blog to hopefully raise funds to purchase a new Harley motorcycle. Like I said 'I'm dreaming of a Harley Davidson' lol.

I began my dream by putting the bug in my wonderful wife's ear about a year ago. I was promptly reminded of the pile of bills on the fridge that need attention more than my dream of a motorcycle.. In a last ditch effort quietly spent $100 dollars on our local Fathers Day Dream Draw tickets($20). In hopes that one of those five tickets gets pulled out of the 4000 printed. Wish me luck. Below is a picture of the 2012 FLSTF Fat Boy that is being raffled off.

I can almost feel the rumble under my ass, and the wind in my face. Can you imagine the peaceful feeling of it all. I've spent hours online looking at Harley's, prices and places to buy one. So for now I'm gonna blog on and see where it takes me. Please feel free to click on and ad for me, keep me on your reading list. Look back often I will post as often as I can.

Harley Switchback

Driving down the highway in my car :( a guy pulled right up beside me on what I come to find is a Harley Switchback. What a beautiful looking bike.

The price of this bike is three times what my car is worth, but the smile on that guys face is priceless.

Measly Beginings

I sat on a 1998 Sportster yesterday at my local Harley dealer. 16,000 kms on it with the 1200 upgrade kit nothing fancy. The dealer was asking $5800 Canadian for it.

The average Harley enthusiast would call this a "wimpy girl bike" I could care less. I thought the bike felt great under my ass. And if I had 5g's I may have offered it on the spot. Lol

Well so for my blog has generated 82 views and profited $4.80. Woohoo only $4995.20 to go. Thank you all for reading. Please pass my blog around I would love to see my blog pay for a good used Harley......;)
